Frequently Asked Questions
Which program should I sign up for?
Loonlets offers programs based on children’s ages. The 3 age groups are:
Hatchers 2-3 years old
Splashers 4-5 years old
Flyers 6-7 years old
Sign your child up for their appropriate age group. If they have a birthday that moves them up an age group during the program then enroll them in the next age group up.
What should my child wear or bring?
Loonlets Soccer provides all equipment needed including soccer balls. Children should wear weather-appropriate athletic clothing that is comfortable to be active in. Shin guards and cleats are not needed.
Where are the sessions held and how long are they?
Sessions are 30 minutes long and are held at various parks in the Hopkins area. Indoor spaces are utilized for colder months. All outdoor locations have restroom facilities on site. Not all locations have drinking fountains, so it is encouraged that you bring water if your child needs it.
Do I need to buy a jersey?
A jersey is included with your once annual enrollment fee. If you need a larger size in the future, you can purchase through the website. It is not required for practice, but we sure love seeing all Loonlets rock the colors!
What is the annual enrollment fee?
There is a $30 annual enrollment fee when you sign up for your first season to cover admin and jersey costs. This fee is charged only once a year regardless of the number of sessions you participate in.
Do parents and guardians need to stay during the session?
Yes, parents and guardians are asked to stay during sessions. Coaches are unable to assist with bathroom breaks if they are needed. To help promote concepts such as individuality and teamwork, all activities are designed without adult participation; however, your presence can serve as a helpful comfort.
What happens if a session is cancelled?
We will do our best to provide a make-up session. No refunds or credits are available for sessions missed by individuals.
Can I get Loonlets programs added at my daycare, school, or neighborhood?
Yes! If you have a group of children that you want a program created for, please reach out through the “Contact” page. We’ll work with you to get an appropriate program in place.
